Moving Day 1985

Moving Day 1985

Orville helped us move.
He was a smiley fellow.
His trim dark beard helped his red ruddy face.
When we drove down 21st Street and turned
Onto Orville Avenue toward the alley, he laughed again.

The dryer wouldn't fit through the back door.
Bill Nell slurred "Do it like the Romans!"
He thought he was in Rome but he was simply in his second six-pack.

'Bama couldn't help.
He was on Disability.
He looked fine to me, but what do I know?

Three-thirty-one.
Another number to remember!
Thirty-three-oh-six had come after three-twenty-four.
I'd spent a third of my life at some address with a three.

And this time, Orville helped us move.
